    A Publix, Walmart, Winn-Dixie update in Bradenton and other Hurricane Milton hit areas

    Publix

    Publix’s store tracker says its stores in the Bradenton, Sarasota, Tampa and St. Petersburg areas will be open until 6 p.m. or 7 p.m. Sunday, depending on location.

    The chain’s Publix Super Markets Charities (PSMC) donated $1 million to Hurricane Milton relief efforts and customers can make donations at store checkout.

    Walmart

    According to Walmart’s Milton storetracker, only the Tampa Supercenter at 19910 Bruce B. Downs Blvd. remains closed. Other Walmart Supercenters are open , and some are providing relief support.

    Sunday: The Bradenton Supercenter at 6225 E. State Rd. 64 is offering laundry and shower services. The Lions Club will be giving water from 2 to 4 p.m. Sanderson Farms is donating ice.

    The 10237 Pines Blvd. St. Petersburg location will have free ice distribution; Operation BBQ Relief giving water starting at 11:30 a.m. and free hot meals starting at noon (until the food runs out). Laundry and shower services also are being offered.

    The St. Petersburg location at 201 34th St. N. will be donating water with the Seminole Community Church at 2 p.m.

    The St. Petersburg location at 3501 34th St. S will be donating ice with Sanderson Farms.

    The Clearwater Supercenter at 2677 Roosevelt Blvd. will have free ice and, from 2 to 4 p.m., a water donation from Good Neighbors.

    In the Sarasota area, the Bower Foundation will be giving out water from 2 to 4 p.m. at the 2911 53rd Ave. Supercenter.

    The Brandon location at 11110 Causeway Blvd. has free ice distribution.

    Tampa’s 1720 E. Hillsborough Ave. location has free ice distribution on Sunday as well as laundry and shower services.

    Tampa’s 6192 Gunn Hwy.’s location will have free ice distribution with Sanderson Farms and Operation BBQ Relief giving free hot meals starting at noon (until the food runs out).

    Monday

    The Sarasota location at 8320 Lockwood Ridge Rd. will have free ice distribution; Operation BBQ Relief giving water starting at 11:30 a.m. and free hot meals starting at noon (until the food runs out).

    Tampa’s 6192 Gunn Hwy.’s location will have water donation from Operation BBQ Relief from 10 a.m. to noon.

    Winn-Dixie

    In Bradenton, the 5802 14th St. W. and the 7400 Cortez Rd. W. locations are open as normal. The 5805 Manatee Ave. store is open Sunday, but doesn’t have perishables yet.

    Three Tampa locations — 2100 W. Swann Ave., 8438 N. Armenia Ave., 13508 N. Florida Ave. — that were closed Saturday still had phones unanswered or running into old fashioned busy signals on Sunday.

    The Fresh Market

    As of Saturday, only three Fresh stores remained closed: 13147 North Dale Mabry Hwy. in Tampa; 7774 113th Street N in Seminole; and Vero Beach, 526-A 21st St.

    If Taylor Swift can give 5 Million, definitely Publix can do better considering they are the IT store in Florida - it’s sad

    All I can say is that just a box of Cherrios cereal is 9.00 at Publix. The same is less than 6.00 at Walmart. That's insane.
