    Lottery ticket worth $1 million sold at Florida Publix. Here’s where

    A lottery player turned a $50 scratch-off ticket from Publix into a much bigger prize in Florida.

    Angel Colon of Hillsborough County won $1 million in the $1,000,000 A Year For Life Spectacular game, the Florida Lottery said Oct. 15.

    She bought her lucky ticket at the Publix Super Market at Lake Juliana in Auburndale.

    She beat the 1-in-185,709 odds to win a second-tier prize , which she claimed at lottery headquarters in Tallahassee as a one-time payout of $640,000, lottery officials said.

    The $50 scratch-off game debuted in February 2023 and one top prize remains, according to lottery records.

    The Polk County Publix received a $2,000 bonus for selling the ticket, officials said.

    Colon is from Plant City, which is part of the Tampa Bay area.
