More than 200 schools, mostly in Philadelphia and New Jersey, were on the first list of schools that received some of the 11,765,285 pounds of meat and poultry products recalled by BrucePac over listeria concerns.

But there were also nine schools in Florida, which are listed below.

The USDA made sure to state, “The products that went to these schools were not part of USDA’s National School Lunch and Breakfast Programs.”

Also, the list of products involved in the recall now is up to a 348-page PDF that leads off with instructions on how to search for the recalled ready-to-eat or frozen dish that might be in your home.

    What is listeria?

According to the CDC, listeria strikes about 1,600 people in the United States each year and kills about 260 of them. Most vulnerable to the worst of listeria are senior citizens and children under 5. Pregnant women can suffer stillbirths and miscarriages. Most people suffer fever, headaches, stomachaches and flu-like symptoms.
