    Rosie O’Donnell speaks out after daughter’s arrest. ‘This is not new’

    Police reports obtained by Fox News revealed Rosie O’Donnell’s 27-year-old daughter Chelsea Belle O’Donnell was arrested Oct. 14 in Wisconsin on multiple felony charges, including “possession of methamphetamine, possession of narcotic drugs, possession of drug paraphernalia, bail jumping and resisting or obstructing an officer.”

    This is Chelsea O’Donnell’s second arrested in one month.

    On Sept. 17, she was arrested and charged with “with felony counts of maintaining a drug trafficking place, child neglect, drug possession including THC and illegally obtained prescriptions, disorderly conduct and domestic abuse.”

    Chelsea O’Donnell is a mom of four young children, 5-year-old Skyler, 3-year-old Riley, 2-year-old Avery, and 11-month-old Atlas, E! News reports.

    In a statement shared by Rosie O’Donnell on Instagram, the actress and comedian said Chelsea’s struggle with addiction is “not new.”

    Alongside a photo of Chelsea O’Donnell with one of her children as a newborn, Rosie O’Donnell wrote, “Chelsea is in the news today. This is a photo from a better time.”

    “Here is the family comment,” she continued. “Sadly this is not new for our family. Chelsea has struggled with drug addiction for a decade. We (are) all hopeful she will find her way out of this deadly disease.”

    Rosie O’Donnell has been open about her relationship with her daughter in the past.

    According to People , Rosie O’Donnell adopted Chelsea O’Donnell as a baby. However, after briefly going missing in 2015, it was learned that the two had become estranged and Chelsea O’Donnellhad moved out of Rosie O’Donnell’s home to live with her birth mother in Wisconsin.

    In 2018, when she became pregnant with her first child, Chelsea O’Donnell and Rosie O’Donnell reconnected. At the time, People reports that Rosie O’Donnell told “The Talk” that Chelsea O’Donnell was “doing better now and we’re both communicating with each other.”

    “When somebody does something unforgivable to you and you can forgive them and they can forgive you, there’s a kind of grace that descends upon the both of you, within that.”
