1.Annie Lytle Elementary: The Devil’s School

Annie Lytle Elementary, also known as Public School Number 4, is said to be the most haunted building in Jacksonville. It was an active school from 1917 to 1960 and then became administrative offices. The building was abandoned in 1981, making it a hotspot for thrill-seekers.

Legends claim the school is haunted by children who died in a boiler explosion or by a crazy janitor. Some even believe it was a site for devil worship, earning the name "Devil’s School." Over time, the building has been heavily vandalized, but preservation efforts have been made to protect it.

    2.The Bardin Booger

Florida’s version of Bigfoot, known as the Skunk Ape, is a famous creature in Florida folklore. In the small logging town of Bardin, there’s a creature known as the Bardin Booger, a local version of this mysterious creature.

The Bardin Booger was first noticed when locals began reporting sightings of a strange humanoid figure in the woods. The stories spread, and soon the town became known for the creature. Although sightings have slowed down over the years, the legend still lives on through stories and songs by local musicians.

    3.Wiccademous, the Witch of Fernandina

On Amelia Island, there’s a legend about Wiccademous, the ghost of a girl executed for witchcraft in the 17th century. The story says she was buried beneath an oak tree, and her spirit haunts the woods across from Fernandina Beach High School.

Originally, the area was known for its "Shaky Ground," where visitors claimed the ground would tremble underfoot. Over time, the legend of Wiccademous grew, and it became a popular destination for teenagers hoping to experience something supernatural. Even though much of the land has been sold for development, the legend remains.

If you're interested, Google "Ghost lights road, Switzerland, FL." I personally saw these lights numerous times in the eighties. Now that it's a four lane road the lights are no more.
