FIDF Ohio chapter part of Israel visit, provides ‘connection’ post-Oct. 7
About 30 people involved with the Central Region of the Friends of the Israel Defense Forces took a mission trip to Israel from June 23 through June 27. When creating the itinerary and goals for the trip, the FIDF thought about how it could best share the stories from Oct. 7, 2023, when Hamas launched a surprise attack on Israel, and help people understand that this is a historical time, Tamir Oppenheim, vice president of the central region of the FIDF, told the Columbus Jewish News July 17. The same itinerary has been used four times and is planned to be used again later this year. The Central Region of the group includes the Ohio, Michigan, Illinois and Dallas chapters.

Cincinnati store sells $150,000 winning Powerball ticket
Cincinnati – A customer at Glenway Pony Keg, located at 4931 Glenway Avenue in Cincinnati, hit it big in the Monday, July 29, 2024, Powerball drawing, winning $150,000. The winning numbers for the drawing were 11-27-30-33-44, with a Powerball of 16 and a Power Play multiplier of 3. The lucky ticket holder used the auto pick feature to select their numbers. They matched four of the five white balls plus the Powerball, initially securing a $50,000 prize. Thanks to the Power Play option, the prize amount was tripled, bringing the total winnings to $150,000.

The Noble County Sheriff's Office said they are looking for Timothy Shawn Wines, 53-years-old, from Washington County Ohio. Wines has a nationwide arrest warrant out of Jackson County, WV.
