Letitia James Hit With New Lawsuit

    2024-05-30

New York Attorney General Letitia James faced another lawsuit this week from an anti-abortion group concerning the abortion pill reversal protocol.

Recently, the National Institute for Family and Life Advocates, Gianna's House, Inc., and Choose Life of Jamestown, Inc. filed a lawsuit against James. They claimed that she is misusing the State's authority to regulate business fraud in order to hinder nonprofit pregnancy centers and their affiliated network from providing information about Abortion Pill Reversal.

The abortion pill reversal (APR) procedure is when a woman changes her mind about terminating a pregnancy after taking mifepristone, a drug used to end pregnancies. In APR, progesterone is taken to counteract the effects of mifepristone.

According to the lawsuit, a woman named Maranda recently gave birth to her daughter after undergoing APR. Maranda initially took mifepristone but later decided to continue with her pregnancy. She discovered information on "New Hope Family Services' website" regarding an FDA-approved method that uses progesterone supplements. These supplements can be lawfully prescribed by physicians in New York to counteract the hormone-blocking effects of mifepristone and potentially save the developing child.

The lawsuit claims that the Attorney General accuses New Hope and other pro-life pregnancy centers of spreading "false and misleading" information about progesterone treatment. She is seeking an injunction and other penalties to suppress their efforts in providing this information. The lawsuit aims to prevent the Attorney General from targeting, suppressing, and penalizing the Plaintiffs' speech regarding progesterone treatment. Furthermore, it requests a declaration that her actions violate the Plaintiffs' First and Fourteenth Amendment rights to freedom of speech, religious practice, and due process of law.

A lot of triggered men on here using foul language. The men seemed to be frightened of a strong, smart woman. Especially a woman of color. It shows how many weak men there are.
