MONTGOMERY, W.Va. — Drive down Third Avenue in this eastern Kanawha Valley community, bordering Kanawha and Fayette counties, and you’re greeted with rows of weather-beaten corn stalks flanked with bright orange bows.

It’s beginning to look like the Fall Festival in Montgomery.

On Saturday, Oct. 5, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m., the community is set to observe its annual celebration of the season, turning Third Avenue – one of the municipality's main thoroughfares – into a sensory-pleasing spectacle with food, music and more.

Last week, workers with the town’s street department were busy preparing the city for this weekend's Fall Festival, decking the avenue with sights of the season. Come Saturday, more than 50 vendors will set up shop along the street, offering everything from food to crafts to jewelry and more.

The Montgomery Fall Festival will feature several family-friendly activities, too. This weekend’s fair will include live entertainment from Emi Lee, D.J. Aaron Scott and Fayetteville-based acoustic duo Whiskey and Wine. A selection of children’s activities will also be available during the celebration.

Also on Saturday, Montgomery will host a bike show and a classic car and truck show, both held in conjunction with the festival.

The bike show, sponsored by the League of Riders Motorcycle Club, costs $10 to enter. Proceeds will be donated to local community organizations, event organizers said. The bike show runs from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m.

The classic car and truck show, held in the 500 and 600 blocks of Third Avenue, costs $15 to enter. It will feature door prizes, a 50/50 drawing, and more than 50 available trophies. The car show runs from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

More information on the Montgomery Fall Festival, as well as the bike and car shows, are available on the Montgomery WV Facebook page.
