Larry Connor and Patrick Lahey plan to take a deep-sea submersible to the depths of the Titanic to demonstrate that the industry is safer following the OceanGate vessel implosion last year. The duo aims to prove that the voyage can be done without disaster despite the implosion of the Titan submersible that resulted in the loss of all five people on board. Lahey has designed a $20 million vessel called the Triton 4000/2 Abyssal Explorer, which Connor believes can carry out the voyage safely.
