Michigan Gov. Gretchen Whitmer (D) insisted she’s “not going anywhere” when pressed on whether she’ll end up being on the Democratic Party ticket with Vice President Kamala Harris .

“No, I’m not going anywhere,” Whitmer told 6 News after a Lansing event when asked if she would accept the vice presidential slot if it were offered.

Whitmer also recently show down rumors she could be a replacement for President Joe Biden , ahead of him officially dropping from the race.

Whitmer endorsed Harris in a Monday statement and she remains a co-chair for the campaign.

“In Vice President Harris, Michigan voters have a presidential candidate they can count on to focus on lowering their costs, restoring their freedoms, bringing jobs and supply chains back home from overseas, and building an economy that works for working people,” the governor wrote.

In a Monday Substack post, Michael Moore urged Biden to resign from office and for Whitmer to partner with Harris. The filmmaker previously helped organize an effort that saw more than 100,000 people vote “uncommitted” in Michigan’s Democratic primary to protest Biden’s handling of the Israel-Hamas war.

“I have been consistent. I know everyone is always suspicious and asking this question over and over again … I am not going anywhere,” Whitmer said on Monday.
