ALERT: Michigan Residents Targets Of New Door-To-Door Scam
I've never understood why some people have made a living out of scamming other people but honestly, I hope to never be in a position to where I would understand their motives. Scams have been around since humans found out that some people are very gullible, and they could con people out of their things. Whether simple or complex, these scams have been multiplying over the years, making it hard to keep up with them.

Lessenberry: A history of candidate shootings
DETROIT — Donald Trump is not the first presidential candidate to have been shot at during a campaign, or even the second, or third. He’s the fourth, and the other three all had two things in common. To begin with, all had a Michigan connection. Theodore Roosevelt had the first and probably most dramatic attempt made on his life, under circumstances that most closely resembled what happened to Trump this July 13. Like Trump, he was a former Republican president who wanted to win back his old office, and on Oct. 12, 1912, he was in Milwaukee, coincidentally the city where this year’s GOP convention was held. He was on his way to give a speech when one John Schrenk rushed up with a revolver and shot TR directly in the chest. Had teleprompters been invented then, Teddy would have died instantly.

FLINT, Mich. - Governor Gretchen Whitmer signing the 2025 school aid budget in Flint this afternoon. Lawmakers approved this funding before going on summer recess. New law makes it easier for Michigan prisons to release people in poor health
DETROIT (AP) — Gov. Gretchen Whitmer signed a law Tuesday that would make it easier for people to be released from Michigan prisons if they’re in debilitating health and considered to be a minimal risk to the public. The new law replaces a 2019 law that was seen as vague and hard to apply. Only one person had been released, according to FAMM, an advocacy group that works for changes in criminal justice systems across the country. The Michigan parole board will have authority to release someone to a medical facility, hospice or a home, especially if they have a life expectancy of less than 18 months. “Their needs are too much for the Corrections Department and they’re not a risk to public safety,” said Maria Goellner, director of state policy at FAMM.

Watch This Alien-Like Bug Crawl Across a Michigan Man’s Floor
There’s no doubt that Michigan is home to countless weird and creepy bugs. However, it seems rare to come across one that you’ve never encountered before in your life. Simon Rix of Shelby Township shared a video he took of a strange bug crawling across his floor the other day. It was unlike anything he had ever seen before. Honestly, it's like nothing I've ever seen either. It’s a white bug with what looks like four legs that move in a unique fashion. Its body appears to be covered in a material resembling children's Playfoam.

Delegates bound to the uncommitted votes in Michigan and Minnesota appear to be willing to hear Vice President Kamala Harris, the de facto Democratic presidential nominee, out — if she distances herself from Biden’s foreign policy stance on Israel. Minnesota and Michigan’s uncommitted delegates have not pledged to support Harris until they see if her […]
