Delphos St. John’s reveals Hall of Fame inductees
DELPHOS — Four Delphos graduates will be inducted into the Delphos St. John’s Hall of Fame in October. This year’s honorees are Dr. Todd Spieles, class of 1966, who owns a chiropractic practice in St. Marys, for professional achievement; Jim Arnzen, 1976, who taught and coached for several schools including Shawnee, for athletic achievement; Dr. Nick Schmit, 1971, a dentist and foundational supporter of the St. John’s choral program, for service to St. John’s; and John Pohlman, 1966, a long-time volunteer for St. John’s Parish, for service to mankind.

The Ottawa-Glandorf football coaches held their annual Youth football camp last week at their practice fields. The camp was well attended by young players looking to play midget and junior high football this fall for the Titans. Nonprofit for disabled residents receives free parking lot, sidewalk upgrades
Much needed repairs are finally being done to provide more safety and space at a local nonprofit that provides vital services to disabled residents. Lott Industries, located on Hill Avenue in Toledo, will have a freshly paved parking lot and sidewalks on its campus as a result of two active work days conducted by the Ohio Contractors Association Toledo Chapter on Monday and Thursday. The project, which is worth at least $250,000, is the result of the association’s annual community service project, which sees several construction companies come together to provide repairs, updates, or needed construction to neighborhoods and nonprofit organizations. Tim Menke, executive director of Lott Industries, said its leadership had been talking about the costs of repairing the parking lot and sidewalk for about five years but decided it wouldn’t be able to be a sustainable nonprofit while paying for upgrades.
