911 call centers back online in MN after outages
MINNEAPOLIS — Call centers are coming back online after a global Microsoft outage knocked out 911 for counties across the nation Friday morning. Companies that use Microsoft have been affected by the outages across the world starting Thursday night and persisting into Friday morning. Many people are stuck in airport lines or stranded at their destination temporarily as airlines race to get planes back in the air.
The state senator leading efforts to return land to tribal nations
As a kid, Mary Kunesh watched her dad travel to reservations in northern Minnesota, working as a pro bono attorney for tribal nations who needed legal assistance. She heard stories from her grandfather about her family’s history, filled with brave Lakota women like her aunt Josephine Gates Kelly, the first tribal chair of the Standing Rock Sioux Tribe.
ROSEAU BEATS CROOKSTON 4-3, CROOKSTON NOW TAKES ON MIDDLE RIVER
The Crookston American Legion Post 20 Nels T. Wold Baseball team had a familiar first-round tournament opponent. They took on Roseau Post 24 in the first round of the Northwest North Sub-state tournament semi-final game in Ada. The two teams met in the first round of the MSHSL Section 8AA first-round playoff game, and Roseau scored a run in the bottom of the seventh inning to beat Crookston 1-0 with a combined four hits in the game. The Legion tournament game was more of the same as Crookston took a 3-0 lead after four innings before Roseau scored three unearned runs in the fourth inning and added another run in the sixth inning for a 4-3 come-from-behind victory.

This year’s WE Fest to bring multiple changes
DETROIT LAKES, MINN. (Valley News Live) - WE Fest is just around the corner and management is looking to make some changes this year. Every summer, thousands head out to SOO Pass Ranch in Detroit Lakes for WE Fest. Last year, festival attendees say it wasn’t so smooth like long lines to even get on the grounds. WE Fest management says part of the headache was because of one major headliner, Morgan Wallen. They call it, “The Wallen Effect.”

Changes made for the ACT Exam
(AP) – The science section will be optional on the ACT exam, and the exam duration will be decreased, the organization announced earlier this week. The writing section was made optional in 2005. Students can now opt between several versions of the test: the ACT core exam (which includes reading, math and English), the ACT plus writing, the ACT plus science or the ACT plus science and writing.

Dobmeier Wins Second IRA/NOSA Feature in a Row
