Dunkin’ , the national coffee chain from the East Coast, is getting ready to open a new location in Middleburg at 2591 Blanding Blvd .

The company’s newest location is set to move into a vacant space next to RCA Carts, across from the Middleburg Crossings Shopping Center , according to a recent plan review application submitted to the Florida Department of Business & Professional Regulation. There is no timeline for this location, but considering the company is applying for a newly constructed building, it will likely open around the end of the year, possibly early next year. The next closest site is in Clay Hill.

This is the latest location for franchise owner Andy Patel , who owns Kwik Trip Oil Co. Inc. Last year, What Now Jacksonville reported on Patel remodeling one of his existing locations in Jacksonville at 7908 Blanding Blvd, Site #1. Now, it appears the successful franchise owner is not slowing down, this time bringing the brand to a busy State Road 21, where most fast food chains sit across the city. Surprisingly, the franchise owner will only have to compete with McDonalds and Royal Moose Coffee Company.

Last month, Dunkin’ celebrated its 10th annual volunteer month with The Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation. In honor of the Foundation’s 10-year commitment to volunteerism, the Joy in Childhood Foundation announced $1 million in grants supporting food access programs to help end childhood hunger. Twenty food banks nationwide received $50,000 grants to support child hunger programming, including backpacks, school pantries, and summer food programs, during the annual volunteer events.

“What makes Dunkin’ different is that, unlike most companies who leverage corporate employees for volunteer events, our Foundation brings together franchisees, restaurant crew members, and corporate employees to give back and spread joy to the local communities in which we live and work,” Victor Carvalho, Chairman of the Dunkin’ Joy in Childhood Foundation Board of Directors, said in a press release. “This year, I am excited to be celebrating a decade of volunteerism with over 100 volunteer events across 35 states and another $1 million commitment to support programs helping end childhood hunger.”
