Perth Amboy man charged with murdering his 80-year-old grandmother
PERTH AMBOY – A city man has been charged with killing his 80-year-old grandmother. Raymond Maldonado was arrested without incident and charged with first-degree murder and fourth-degree contempt for violating a restraining order, the Middlesex County’s Prosecutor’s Office announced. Maldonado was being held at the Middlesex County Adult Correctional Center pending a detention hearing.

NEPTUNE - The National Weather Service has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for Monmouth County and southeastern Middlesex County effective until 7:30 tonight. Wind gusts are moving southeast out of New Brunswick at 25 miles per hour towards the Neptune area. The warning includes affecting roadways such as the Parkway between exits 99 and 122. A man who shot a person 14 times during a robbery attempt in Middlesex County in 2020 has been sentenced to federal prison. Jonathan Rosales, 23, of New Brunswick, received a nine-year prison sentence in Newark federal court on Thursday, the U.S. Attorney’s Office District of New Jersey said in a news release. He previously pleaded guilty to conspiracy to commit Hobbs Act robbery and attempted Hobbs Act robbery.
