2 fire tanker trucks heading to large warehouse blaze crash, injuring 7 firefighters
YORK, Pa. (AP) — Authorities say seven firefighters were injured when two tanker trucks crashed while responding to a large warehouse fire in York, Pennsylvania. Officials say the crash occurred shortly before 11 p.m. Friday in Spring Garden Township, about a third of a mile from the fire. The York New Salem Volunteer Fire Company said in a post on its Facebook page that five members sustained injuries ranging from “some minor bumps and bruises to some being a little more serious” — but none of the injuries were life-threatening. The Laurel Fire Company No. 1 of Windsor said two firefighters taken to a hospital for evaluation had been discharged by early Saturday.

71-year-old driver killed in Perry County crash
A Perry County man died Wednesday when his car was involved in a crash with a tanker truck on Routes 11/15, authorities said. Richard Caldwell, 71, of Duncannon, was killed in a crash around 11:30 a.m. on a stretch of highway between Marysville and Duncannon, according to the Perry County Coroner’s Office and PennDOT.
Harrisburg man sentenced to 2.5 years in prison for odometer tampering
HARRISBURG, Pa. — A Harrisburg man has been sentenced for his role in an odometer tampering scheme. According to the United States Attorney's Office for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, on July 10, Earnest Fry, 49, was sentenced to 30 months in jail by U.S. District Judge Christopher C. Walter J. Williams 83 of Harrisburg, died Monday, July 8, 2024 at his home. Walter was born in Dayton, Ohio and was the son of the late Jack and Joyce Williams. He was retired from the Advanced Wastewater Treatment Plant, Harrisburg, where he was a shift supervisor. He was a veteran of the Vietnam War, where he served two tours, and in 1987 he retired from the U.S. Air Force, after 28 years of service. He was a member of the American Legion and Hunters & Anglers Club. He enjoyed watching old western movies and the Hallmark Channel, and cruising on the Royal Caribbean Cruise Line.
