Council debates so-called 'meadow'
Two Arendtsville residents request to allow the growth of their “meadow” to continue was recently cut short by the borough council. Marilyn and John Dolly’s residence in the 200 block of Gettysburg Street was found to be in violation of the borough’s ordinance for what the couple describes as roughly a half acre of meadow or “natural lawn.”
Law firm voted expected in UA
The Upper Adams School District (UASD) Board plans to vote Tuesday on engaging Independence Law Center of Harrisburg as additional counsel. Man accused of harassment, resisting
A Gettysburg man is accused of harassing a woman and resisting arrest early Monday while allegedly carrying a 10-inch knife. James Stair, 34, was charged with one misdemeanor count each of evading arrest on foot, resisting arrest, and loitering and prowling at night time as well as one summary count of harassment by following someone in a public place, according to a magisterial docket.

Coroner identifies three killed in I-81 cross-over crash Sunday
The Cumberland County Coroner's Office on Monday identified the three people killed in a cross-over, tractor-trailer crash on Interstate 81 in Silver Spring Township Sunday. Coroner Charley Hall reported that a tractor-trailer traveling north on I-81 crossed the median at mile marker 54.7 in Silver Spring Township Sunday afternoon, striking two passenger vehicles traveling south on the highway.
