Multiple dogs with parvo found in York County
YORK, Pa. (WHTM) – Multiple dogs in York City have been diagnosed with canine parvovirus, or “parvo,” a highly contagious disease that affects dogs. The York County SPCA says this week they admitted two unvaccinated dogs that became symptomatic and tested positive for parvo. On Thursday a third dog entered the facility and tested positive for the disease.
Harrisburg Building Renamed to Reflect Modern Health and Human Services
The shared building of the Pennsylvania Department of Human Services (DHS) and the Department of Health (DOH) has been officially renamed the Health and Human Services Building. The renaming ceremony was attended by DHS Secretary Dr. Val Arkoosh and DOH Secretary Dr. Debra Bogen, marking a significant shift from the previous “Health and Welfare” title to better represent the services provided and the departments housed within.

New Hamilton Health medical facility opens in Steelton
DAUPHIN COUNTY, Pa. (WHTM)– A ribbon-cutting event was held Thursday to celebrate the grand opening of the new Hamilton Health Center Outpatient Facility. Today marks the completion of phase one of the new building on 120 N. Front Street in the Steel Works mixed-use development project. The project will be completed in two phases and will have 10,000 feet of usable space on each floor.
Gettysburg reinstates bus parking spots
Buses once again have designated parking spots in Gettysburg Borough. At their monthly meeting on Monday, the borough council authorized management to create bus-only parking spots where they deem them to be suitable. The spots are another iteration of a pilot program that was deemed to be a failure in 2023.
