Mz. Jade’s SoulFood closing Middletown location

DAYTON, Ohio (WDTN) — A longtime location of a soul food restaurant will soon close its doors for good.

On Sunday, Mz. Jade’s SoulFood announced the upcoming closure of the company’s first brick-and-mortar location at 1131 Central Avenue in Middletown. Although the owner says there are four months remaining on the lease, the location will not renew and will close.

“It’s been a long 6-year run, it’s time to move on,” said the post .

According to the post, the owner took her staff from the location, while doubling their pay.

The restaurant recently opened a location inside of West Social Tap and Table. 2 NEWS previously reported a location in Sharonville is also expected to open in the future. A soul trailer is anticipated to operate as well.

The owner says she loves the Middletown community, and more details about her “farewell give back” to the community will be released in the future.

An exact closure date has yet to be announced.
