    Remains of WWII Veteran from Middletown to be buried

    MIDDLETOWN, Ohio (WDTN) — The remains of a Middletown Veteran are returning home to be laid to rest.

    On Aug. 7 at 10 a.m., the remains of U.S. Army Air Forces 1st Lt. Dan W. Corson, 27, will be buried at Woodside Cemetery in Middletown. According to a release, Corson served in World War II.

    Corson is believed to have been killed Dec. 20, 1942 after being struck by “anti-aircraft fire” at a German aircraft location in France.

    In 2019, Corson’s remains were exhumed from a cemetery in France. He was listed as accounted for on Sept. 22, 2023.
