Bloomington closes Rail Trail encampments, adds homelessness coordinator in 2025 Budget
Another homeless encampment has been cleared in Bloomington, this time along the Rail Trail south of Country Club Drive and North of Gordon Pike. At a news conference in the first week of August, Bloomington mayor Kerry Thomson said that the encampments along the Rail Trail, which had 30-day notices posted towards early July, were still on course for removal “in the next couple of weeks.”

IEDC Requesting $50 million for 25 million gallons of water per day
LEBANON, Ind. (WLFI) - The Indiana Economic Development Corporation is requesting $100 million to be reallocated to the LEAP District in Lebanon. The Indiana State Budget Meeting is will be held Thursday. According to the meeting agenda, the IEDC requests $50 million be moved from the Deal Closing Fund to the Indiana Finance Authority.

New business coming to Holton-Marshal thankful for RSRF grant
Along with other business at the August meeting of the Holton Town Council, they approved a zoning change for a new business on US 50 in the town. Phyllis Nighbert, Paul Hughes and Andy Stratton all agreed that having self-storage units would be good for the town of Holton and gave their approval to make the zoning change from agriculture to roadside business for the property at 7970 W US 50 requested by Brandon Thoroughman and Cassie Hornsby, owners.
