(Natalia Ganelin/Getty Images) </figcaption></figure> GAINES COUNTY — A school bus returning from a school athletic event for Seminole High School was involved in a fatal collision. According to the Texas Department of Public Safety, the collision took place at about 8:56&nbsp;p.m. Thursday, Aug. 15, at the intersection of US Route 385 and County Road 320. While 25 Seminole High School students were recorded as on board during the time of the collision, the students reported no injuries at the time of the crash. All students were released to school officials at the scene. According to the preliminary report, a 2005&nbsp;Van Hool charter bus (a Seminole ISD school bus) was traveling northbound along US 385 while in the outside lane. A 2005&nbsp;GMC Yukon was reported as traveling eastbound on CR 230 and then recorded as turning left onto US 385. The Yukon failed to yield the right way to the school bus and was then struck by the bus. The collision caused the Yukon to roll over into the barrow ditch, while the the school bus remained upright and came to a stop facing northbound along the shoulder of US 385. The driver of the Yukon was recorded as a 65-year-old male of Seminole; however, his name has not been released pending next of kin notification. He was pronounced dead on the scene by Justice of the Peace Patrick "Packy" Kissick. The second driver involved in the collision was reported as 72-year-old Eugene Reed, also of Seminole. Reed was recorded as not injured in the incident report. </div></body>
