MIDLAND, Texas (KMID/KPEJ)- The City of Midland reminded residents of the mill and inlay projects that are currently taking place and provided information on closures that are scheduled to begin next week.

Midland officials stated that the Mill and Inlay projects will prevent the City from having to perform a full street reconstruction, which they said to be more costly, invasive, and time-consuming.

According to the BW Manufacturing website , milling involves grinding down the upper layer of asphalt to remove cracks, then filling any holes and leveling it off by placing a layer of inlay paving on top, and then putting an asphalt overlay on top.

City officials stated that this process will affect the following areas:

    • Ward from Sentinel to Princeton
    • Princeton from Ward to Boeing
    • Northrup from Princeton to EOB (end of block)
    • Whitney from Andrews to Golf Course
    • Sentinel from Midkiff to Culver

Closed: July 2 to July 4
