5th annual Back the Teacher Bash was a great success
Restoring the Breach, along with The Button, Pink Huddle, and the Youth Career Camp, recently held their 5th annual Back the Teacher Bash at the Outreach Center in Statesboro. All educators in the neighboring counties of Bulloch, Evans, and Candler were invited to attend. Teachers were able to stock up on school supplies and decor, along with brand new household items donated by the Walmart Distribution Center. LaShai Campbell, Co-Founder of Restoring the Breach, says the event went great with over 100 teachers in attendance. Overall input on the event was positive, with one attendee sharing, "I feel like the supplies will definitely help me as a fairly new teacher and it will help me to provide some supplies to students who may not be able to afford them." Campbell says, “I would love to honorably mention our sponsors: Walmart, Coca-Cola, Amerigroup, and Clemons Family Practice. Thank you so much for promoting us!”
League One legend Aaron Walker returns to native Georgia with Tormenta FC
STATESBORO, Ga. - South Georgia Tormenta FC today announced it has signed veteran USL League One midfielder Aaron Walker for the remainder of the 2024 season. The Woodstock, Ga. native played four seasons at Oglethorpe University, where the captain led the Stormy Petrels to its first-ever SCAC Men's Soccer Championship title and NCAA Division III Tournament appearance in 2011. In 2012, Walker spent time with the NPSL's Georgia Revolution.
