Kentucky hospital adds new endoscopic spine technology
Louisville, Ky.-based UofL Health – Medical Center East is the first in the state to add Elliquence technology for endoscopic spine surgery. David Freeman, MD, of UofL Health Brain & Spine Institute performed the first case with the technology in September 2023, according to a July 22 news release. Elliquence provides direct visualization with scopes, and its technology has been used for other anatomical procedures.
Bourbon, Brunch and Bluegrass Event Coming To Kentucky This September

Clinton County woman wins KSP Trooper Island raffle
A Clinton County woman has won the Kentucky State Police Trooper Island raffle at the Kentucky State Fair. Lois Melton of Albany won a 2024 Ford Mustang GT Premium Convertible, or $50,000 cash, whichever she chooses. The drawing was held on Sunday, the final day of the Kentucky State Fair.

It is disappointing that a Kentucky federal judge dismissed felony charges against two former police officers charged in the death of Breonna Taylor during a 2020 raid. But the decision by U.S District Judge Charles R. Simpson III to place blame for the 26-year-old emergency-room technician’s death squarely on boyfriend Kenneth Walker III defies logic.
