The closure of the Oklahoma City location of a sushi restaurant and announcement of a Midwest City Chinese restaurant's upcoming closure are the latest in Oklahoma City during a period of growth amidst a phase of openings around the city.

Yokozuna, 13230 Pawnee Dr #100, closed it Chisholm Creek location at the beginning of the month, after a decision was made not to renew the lease for the space. However, the restaurant, which is a concept of the McNellie's Group, still operates two locations in Tulsa at 309 E 2 Street and 9146 S Yale, Suite 100.

According to a Facebook post, Golden Palace, 1224 S Air Depot Boulevard in Midwest City, will close that location after more than three decades in business. The restaurant will stay open through July 28, however the location at 1500 S Meridian in Oklahoma City will not close.

The two closings follow the June announcement that Packard's New American Kitchen, 201 NW 10 would close its doors after 11 years in business.

The closings also come as several restaurants have opened, with the recent launch of Alma, 320 NW 10 Street, and Perle Mesta, 1 Park Ave., and the planned upcoming reopening of Mexican Radio, 1215 N Walker Ave., and opening of The Goose, 1210 N Hudson Ave., and more in the near future.
