Former UTEP head football coach Dana Dimel just put his luxury Upper Valley home on the market, and he's asking big bucks for the single-family, two-story residence.

The longtime college football coach, who came to UTEP in 2018 as Sean Kugler's replacement after a lengthy run as Kansas State's offensive coordinator, went 20-49 in six seasons with the Miners, including a New Mexico Bowl appearance in 2021.

In a press conference announcing Dimel's firing, athletic director Jim Senter acknowledged the perannial bottom-feeding football program improved under Dimel's leadership, but said at the time that it wasn’t “the kind of improvement necessary to compete for and win championships.”

The Tuscan Villa home, located in a gated community in the Country Club area, is on the market for $1.59 million. That kind of dough gets you the 4 bedroom-5 bath 4,634 square foot main house, plus a “separate casita [with] another bedroom/bath."

Among the highlights of the high-end home, according to the listing, are a gourmet kitchen with pricey appliances, a master bedroom with fireplace, and a spa-like bath with a jacuzzi tub, and a private bath in the other bedrooms.

And while it doesn't have much of a back yard, the interior courtyard makes for a charming, comfortable outdoor living area with a pool, built-in grill, fireplaces and TVs to watch the upcoming college and professional football season.

The Dimel’s bought the home in 2018 from Tim Floyd, who coached the UTEP men’s basketball team from 2010 – 2017 until he abruptly quit 6 games into the season.
