    Movies are a great way to keep the kids entertained and out of the hot summer sun for a couple of hours. And if you can do it for cheap, even better.

    Luckily for your budget, movie theater chains across the state are holding movie camps over the summer months.

    Movie camps are an affordable way for families to beat the summer doldrums and spend a few hours together out of the house and out of the brutal Texas heat.

    Cinemark Summer Movie Clubhouse

    Kid-approved movies each Wednesday through August 15.

    “Trolls Band Together,” “Migration,” and “The Lego Movie” are among the classic kid-fare featured. Admission for Cinemark's Summer Movie Clubhouse is $1.75 for kids and adults.

    Every Wednesday and Thursday in June and July they'll be showing family-friendly flicks for free. And you can't get any more affordable than free.

    Showtimes are 10 a.m. and 11 a.m. All of the movies that are part of the series are all-ages and rated G or PG.
