The Texas-based burger chain is celebrating its 74^th birthday by once again proclaiming August 8, 2024 as National Whataburger Day, and giving away birthday cake.

Well, an Orange Birthday Cake Shake, actually. Now, orange you glad it's Whataburger’s birthday?

Whether you’re a Whataburger Fanatic who will eat there morning, noon, and, night to collect bags, cups, and table tents for Christmas tree decorations, take Whataburger-themed wedding photos, or just love free stuff there is only one way to celebrate National Whataburger Day and that’s at a Whataburger location.

And if you can get something free while you’re there even better.

The special birthday cake-flavored shake is 20 ounces of sweet Whataburger goodness in iconic Whataburger orange topped with white whipped cream and finished with bright orange sprinkles, according to a company press release.

Yup, Whataburger is doing Whataburger things again.

Sadly, you can’t just walk in and demand your freebie. While it is free free and not a buy-something-to-get-something offer you still have to jump through a couple of hoops.

How and When to Get Your Free Orange Birthday Cake Shake

The celebratory free Orange Birthday Cake Shake is a digital offer so in order to collect this is what you have to do according to the company news release:

• Download the Whataburger App on the App Store or Google Play.
• Create a Whataburger Rewards account.

Oh, and the offer is only good for “active users,” so you must have made a purchase using the app in the last year.

If you’re already an active Whataburger Rewards member you’re good, enjoy the free birthday cake flavored shake.

What If I Don’t Have or Want the App?

The Whataburger Birthday Shake will be also available after August 8 (but not free) in-store, at the drive-thru and online at Whataburger.com for a limited time while supplies last.
