Borderland families looking to welcome the change in seasons with a change of scenery can do so at the 2024 Apple Festival a day trip away from El Paso and Las Cruces.

The celebration of a bountiful apple season at Nichols Ranch and Orchards near Alamogordo will include live music, numerous vendors, and apples, of course.

    Apples, Food and Live Music

The 4th Annual Apple Festival -- set for Saturday, October 5, and Sunday, October 6 -- offers you and the kids the opportunity to breathe in the fresh mountain air, enjoy the mountain views that the Sacramento Mountains offer, and pick your own raw apples.

And because the Apple Festival is all about the crispy round fruit, you'll also find apple pies, apple butter, apple turnovers, caramel apples, and apple cider for eating and drinking.

The 2024 celebration of this year’s harvest will include live music daily, over 20 snack and food vendors, and more than 85 arts and crafts vendors from Texas and New Mexico, according to the event post.

The Runyan Ranches Petting Zoo will be among the kid-friendly activities.
