    Milaca track and field teams host successful senior night

    On a spectacular evening for track and field, the Milaca Wolves had a successful meet on Monday, April 15, at Milaca High School. The boys team took first place and the girls team finished third. It was Milaca’s senior night and the Wolves’ only home meet of the 2024 season. The Wolves had nine event winners (four girls and five boys).

    Leading the way for the boys were Ben Berg (first in the 1,600-meter race), George Roehl (first in 110-meter hurdles and 300-meter hurdles), the 4x400 relay team, the 4x800 relay team and the throwers relay team.

    The girls team’s event winners were Emily Scheidegger (100, 200 and 400-meter wheelchair races), Natasha Albrecht (100-meter and 300-meter hurdles), Lillian Voss (high jump) and Taylar Bockoven (pole vault).

    The Wolves boys team also had five second-place finishes. Finishing in second were Michael Geranen (3,200-meter race), Eli Schomaker (110-meter hurdles), Nazareth Evans (300-meter hurdles), the boys 4x100 relay team, and Riley Larsen (high jump).

    The Wolves girls team had three second-place finishers. Bockhoven took second in the 100-meter dash and the long jump. The girls 4x100 relay team took second in the 4x100 race, and Ellie Linden finished second in the 400-meter dash.

    The Wolves’ next meet is an invitational at Pine City High School on Thursday, April 25, at 3:45 p.m. Milaca won’t host another home meet until next season.
