Hartford Falls 3-1 Against Pittsburgh
Back on the road, Hartford Athletic falls 3-1 for their second match-up against Pittsburgh Riverhounds SC. The Green and Blue had a difficult start in the first half with three yellow cards along with three goals from Pittsburgh. With a penalty shot for the first one, it was a difficult moment for goaltender Monroe who dove the opposite way for a tricky strike. West Hartford receives $697,000 to make sidewalks more accessible
WEST HARTFORD, Conn. — The town of West Hartford announced in a release on Thursday that it will receive $697,000 from the state for sidewalk accessibility enhancements. The state’s Department of Transportation awarded the town the funding through the Community Connectivity Grant Program, which is an infrastructure improvement program that provides funding for local projects to improve safety and accessibility for pedestrians, bicyclists and transit users in communities across the state.

Kimco’s proposal to redevelop the southern half of its Wilton Center campus (at 21 River Rd.) into a five-story, 169-unit mixed-use complex moved one step closer to the finish line on Thursday, July 11, when the Inland Wetlands Commission voted to approve the application. The project is currently being reviewed by the Planning and Zoning Commission and could go to public comment and even a vote by P&Z as early as tonight, Monday, July 22.

Bear killed after biting woman in Conn.
The woman sustained minor injuries in the attack. Environmental police in Connecticut euthanized a 280-pound black bear Saturday afternoon after it bit a woman in Cheshire. The Connecticut Department of Energy and Environmental Protection, in a press release, said officers from the Environmental Conservation Police responded to reports that a black bear had bitten a woman at around 4 p.m.
