When the pool was closed after the 2021 season, Milford Parks Director James Asam said the issues were too costly to make repairs practical.
In total, repairs cost about $4 million. The updated pool aims to be a fully accessible complex. The new plans for the pool included full handicap accessibility, a spray deck and beach-style entry.
The spray deck could be used beyond the eight or so weeks the pool is open during the summer, because it does not require the same staffing levels as does the pool. Milford typically uses students on summer break as lifeguards, so when school resumes, the pool closes.
In addition, repairs to walkways and fencing were also made, as well as a new playground and pool bathhouse.
The Fino Field pool is at 35 Granite St. Admission is set to cost $3 for children, $5 for adult Milford residents and $6 for nonresidents. Season passes are also available.
Individual season passes for Milford residents cost $60; for nonresidents, it's $150. Family passes for up to four people cost $100 for Milford families, and $200 for non-Milford families. No refunds will be issued due to inclement weather.
At this time, only cash and checks will be accepted at the gate. The pool will be open from noon to 6 p.m. daily, with the last day to swim occurring Sept. 14.
