MILFORD — It's been an inordinately hot summer.

With highs in the 90s and heatwaves that seem to happen biweekly, it's no wonder everyone in Massachusetts has been finding ways to keep cool this summer.

But the best way to beat the heat ? Ice cream. It's cold, it has to be made fresh and who doesn't love the sweetness of a good scoop. The shops are also usually pretty cool, which is a perfect counter to these dreadful New England heat waves.

Whether you like it served with fried seafood or you're trying new and interesting flavors, we're sure everyone has a bias toward their go-to ice cream spot. You can also have it served on a waffle cone, a sugar cone or a cup if you don't want to get your hands all sticky.
