MILFORD A local woman who allegedly stabbed a man in the neck during a domestic incident earlier this month has been declared a danger to the public and will be held without bail.

A Milford District Court judge on Friday ordered Sandy Villeda Martinez, 35, be held without bail for 120 days.

At about 4 a.m. on July 15, police responded to Purchase Street for a report of a person on the ground. Upon arrival, they found a man suffering from a stab wound to his neck and several cuts to his face.

Police initially believed the injuries may have been self-inflicted, but he told them that Martinez had stabbed him. Also, police said doctors at UMass-Memorial Medical Center in Worcester said the injuries did not appear to be self-inflicted. Police did not describe the nature of the relationship between Martinez and the victim, but said it was a "domestic incident."

Police arrested Martinez on July 16. They charged her with assault with the intent to murder; mayhem; assault and battery with a dangerous weapon; and obstruction of justice. She has been held without bail since her arraignment on July 17.

Martinez is due back in Milford District Court on Aug. 23 for a probable cause hearing.
