Nebraska to host class of 2026 athlete Jayden McGregory this weekend
The Nebraska Cornhuskers are hosting a class of 2026 recruit this week. Jayden McGregory is an athlete for Valley High School in Des Moines, IA. McGregory will visit Lincoln on July 27 and then the Michigan Wolverines on July 29. The 6-foot-2 prospect is ranked as a four-star recruit by both 247Sports and Rivals. The athlete received the offer from Matt Rhule and the Huskers back in April. 247Sports ranks him the No.1 player in the state of Iowa and the No. 13 athlete nationally. Huskers add top player from North Dakota to 2025 recruiting class
Lincoln, NEB — Husker Football added another player to its 2025 recruiting class in defensive lineman Kade Piertzak (Fargo, North Dakota) after announcing his commitment to Nebraska. Piertzak is the top ranked high school football player in North Dakota and is now the third defensive lineman as part of the Huskers '25 recruiting class. The team now has 16 total commitments from players in the class, including fellow defensive lineman Malcolm Simpson (Galveston, Texas) and Tyson Terry (Omaha North).
Lincoln man sentenced after drugs found in vehicle and home
LINCOLN, Neb. (KOLN) - A Lincoln man will spend the next 20 years behind bars after investigators found drugs in his vehicle and one of his homes. Judge John Gerrard sentenced 39-year-old Aaron Gonzales on Monday for conspiracy to distribute and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of methamphetamine, 500 grams or more of meth mixture, and unspecified amounts of cocaine and marijuana; and possession with intent to distribute 50 grams or more of meth actual. Each count will run concurrently. Once he is released from prison, he will begin a five-year term of supervised release.
