On February 13th, Zachary Marr went missing at a Boston pub known as the Bell in Hand Tavern. Marr had left the bar around 1:30 in the morning to go smoke a cigarette, neglecting his coat and leaving it inside. Within a ten minute window of him leaving the bar, he was gone.

Editorial: On Dartmouth’s Unique Term
Before I sat down to write this editorial, I looked back at what previous summer editors had to say about their sophomore summers. Disregarding the tired and now-ancient references to the pandemic, I gathered that, in the aggregate, the ’24s and ’25s approached their summer terms with optimism and enjoyed a formative experience. Sunset hikes and days on the dock aplenty, I can surmise that their summers were all—or, at least most—of what they were supposed to be. After all, the still-impressionable underclassmen are told time and time again how special the summer is.
State files appeal in ConVal School District case
A week after appealing Judge David Ruoff’s order ruling the statewide education property tax unconstitutional, the state has appealed his order in the suit brought by the ConVal School District finding that the state is shirking its duty to fund an adequate education as required by Part II, Article 83 of the Constitution and ordered by the NH Supreme Court in 1993 and reaffirmed in 1997.

Fitchburg Man Sentenced for Illegal Firearm Possession
WORCESTER – A federal judge in Worce3ster sentenced a local man the three years in prison for possessing a firearm as a convicted felon on Thursday, Aug. 22. Satron Pridgen, 45, of Fitchburg, receive a sentence of three years in prison and three years of supervised release. Pridgen pleaded guilty in May 2024.
