A cyclist was killed in Sussex County after they were struck by a car on Route 206 on Saturday afternoon.

Damian Baranowski, a 22-year-old from Milford, Penn., was traveling north on the highway's right shoulder in Sandyston when a Nissan crossed into the shoulder and hit Baranowski, said New Jersey State Police Sgt. Jeffrey Lebron. Lebron said police responded to a call at about 2:50 p.m.

The Nissan, driven by 21-year-old Bronx woman, continued north before it veered off the road, hit a utility pole and flipped. The driver was taken to the hospital with serious injuries.

Lebron said the crash is under investigation and no additional information is available.
