I trained twice in South Korea, in Pusan and Pohang, and would not want to be stationed there. After the Korean War and the split into two countries, they each were in need of redevelopments. I found the South Korean people closed off to foreigners. I don't mean this in a bad way. They are like 98% homogeneous. So, they didn't appear to have much outside contact except the US military and foreign businesses, maybe also Mormons or Jehovah's witnesses. But things may have changed since I was there.
