Chander resigns from Penn College
Pankil Chander has stepped down as head coach at Penn College after two seasons to take another coaching position. He coached the team to its first ever winning dual meet record as an NCAA institution and first ever NCAA qualifier. He had previously coached at Springfield College and Gettysburg College before taking his first head coaching job at Penn College for the 2022-2023 season. The Wildcats joined the AMCC as an associate member in 2023 and finished as the conference runner-up. Penn College has begun a search for his replacement.

Delays possible Friday on Lewisburg River Bridge
Lewisburg, Pa. — Delays may occur Friday as a contractor does pavement marking on the Lewisburg River Bridge (Route 45). Work will be from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. July 26. The work is part of a preservation project on the bridge that connects Lewisburg Borough, Union County, to West Chillisquaque Township, Northumberland County. Flaggers will control Route 45 eastbound and westbound traffic to allow for pavement marking installation between Water Street in Lewisburg and Route 405 in West Chillisquaque. RAM Services of Michigan is the contractor for preservation of the bridge over the West Branch Susquehanna River.

The 2024 Wyoming County Fair, held at 9141 US 6 in Meshoppen, is scheduled for August 28- September 2. Several free ground acts, such as Flores Circus Thrill Show, Alfred E. Gator and His Tiny Swamp House, Extreme Raptors Show, Truck and Tractor Pulls and Buffalo Beals Petting Zoo are included with the fair admission. Aqua seeks rate increases; public hearings set before regulators
HARRISBURG – Water bills could be on the rise in the Shenandoah area, among other parts of the state next year, and regulators want your input. Aqua Pennsylvania filed an application in May seeking a rate increase from the Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission. Aqua purchased the water system serving the Greater Shenandoah Area and took control last year.

Woman arrested for theft, drug possession
Renovo, Pa. — A Renovo woman arrested for theft was found to be in possession of drugs and paraphernalia, police say. Kayla Marie Colorado, 33, of Renovo, was arrested by police on July 19 for retail theft. Colorado allegedly stole a razor scraper tool valued at $5.99 from Tony's Hardware, located at 621 Huron Ave. During the arrest, Colorado was found to be in possession of drugs and paraphernalia, according to a release from the Renovo Police Department. Colorado, who had past convictions for theft, was charged with a felony retail theft for the July 29 incident, as well as possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and possession of a small amount of marijuana. She was arraigned by MDJ Mills and then taken to the Clinton County Correctional Facility to be jailed in lieu of $10,000 bail.
Rabid fox in Selinsgrove, two confirmed bites
Selinsgrove, Pa. — Two people were confirmed to have bitten by a fox suspected to be rabid in Selinsgrove yesterday near the East Snyder Community Garden. In the morning on Wednesday, July 24, the East Snyder Community Garden posted that "someone in Harris Estates was bitten by a fox today." This morning, the garden posted an update stating "three people have been bitten–one seriously" by the fox. State Police confirmed that two individuals were bitten by a fox on July 24 in Selinsgrove. ...
