A day in the life: Cherokee Royalty at the Choctaw Indian Fair
CHOCTAW, Miss. – From July 9-14, 2023-24 Eastern Band of Cherokee Indians (EBCI) Royalty, including Miss Cherokee Scarlett “Gigage” Guy, Teen Miss Cherokee Kyndra Postoak, Junior Miss Cherokee Kennedy Moore, and Little Miss Cherokee Rhiannon Postoak, along with their chaperones and EBCI Pageant Board members Lisa Penick and Natalie Grant, travelled to Choctaw, Miss., to attend the 74th Annual Choctaw Indian Fair.
Employee charged with stealing SC DMV funds
A Camden woman faces a felony charge for allegedly using state computers to steal thousands of dollars while working for the South Carolina Department of Motor Vehicles. SLED agents arrested Julia Haley Baker, 22. She was charged with computer crime in the first degree and booked at the Kershaw County Detention Center and will be prosecuted by the Fifth Circuit Solicitor's Office. If convicted, she could be fined up to $50,000 and/or sentenced to up to five years in prison.
