MILLBURN, NJ — During the recent Millburn Township Committee meeting, Fire Captain Robert Echavarria introduced the department’s newest firefighter.
“On behalf of all the members of the Millburn Fire Department, I want to express my sincerest thank you to the township committee and the community. It is my great honor and pleasure to be able to introduce a candidate for appointment tonight as a probationary firefighter, Jonathan Feinberg.”
Echavarria shared, “Jonathan was raised in New Providence and moved in with his father in Roxbury, New Jersey. He attended Roxbury High School, graduating in June 2010.
After high school, Feinberg joined the United States Navy, where, according to Echacarria, Feinberg’s dedication and leadership skills were quickly recognized. He received a promotion to Damage Control and Petty Officer Third Class and was deployed to the Arabian Gulf (also known as the Persian Gulf), near the Mediterranean Sea, in 2013.
In July 2017, Feinberg was hired as a police officer by the Hopatcong Police Department and then transferred to the Morris County Sheriff's Office.
Echavarria mentioned a couple of awards that Feinberg received. “He has received several recognitions for delivering a baby girl, including ‘CPR Saves’ and the ‘Life Saving Award.’”
Feinberg is still currently a member of the Mount Arlington Volunteer Fire Department as a firefighter.
His wife Marissa and their four children: Aiden, Emmett, Madeline and Esme attended the ceremony. “Their unwavering support is a testament to Jonathan's character and will undoubtedly be a source of strength in his new role,” concluded Echavarria.
