Echavarria shared, “Jonathan was raised in New Providence and moved in with his father in Roxbury, New Jersey. He attended Roxbury High School, graduating in June 2010.

After high school, Feinberg joined the United States Navy, where, according to Echacarria, Feinberg’s dedication and leadership skills were quickly recognized. He received a promotion to Damage Control and Petty Officer Third Class and was deployed to the Arabian Gulf (also known as the Persian Gulf), near the Mediterranean Sea, in 2013.

In July 2017, Feinberg was hired as a police officer by the Hopatcong Police Department and then transferred to the Morris County Sheriff's Office.

Echavarria mentioned a couple of awards that Feinberg received. “He has received several recognitions for delivering a baby girl, including ‘CPR Saves’ and the ‘Life Saving Award.’”
