MILLBURY — Route 20 reopened Tuesday evening after crews spent the day off-loading a tanker truck that overturned.

The crash, which occurred about 2 a.m. Tuesday at the Massachusetts Turnpike interchange, near the Upper Blackstone Water Treatment Plant, forced the closing of Route 20, creating traffic tie-ups in the area.

The rig was hauling diesel fuel, some of which spilled. Firefighters were involved in a hazardous materials cleanup that continued for several hours. The fuel was off-loaded into another vehicle.

The road was closed between Granite and Greenwood streets. There was no access to Route 20 from the turnpike.

    There were no reported injuries.
