Mi Scuzi to open at Millcreek Mall. Menu contains Italian favorites, specialties, brunch

Restaurateur Michael Farsace is looking forward to showing off his brand new restaurant at 700 Millcreek Mall Blvd., outside JCPenney. He doesn't have to wait much longer. The grand opening is Wednesday — it's open from 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. — and reservations are getting scarce for the rest of the week.

"It's absolutely stunning," Farsace said of the new dining room. "We have a lot of local and personal art contributions and creative displays."

He said the 6,900-square-foot restaurant actually offers four dining areas "each with their own unique vibe," adding that he made an effort to retain the intimate atmosphere that people loved about his old location at 2641 Myrtle St.

"You really have to come four or five times to see what parts of the restaurant you love," he said, adding that the menu is "very diverse and complex."

"There's lots to try and all the fan favorites, such as the sea bass and 22-ounce bone-in ribeye, are always available."

Farsace said he moved his business to the mall because it was time to expand.

"We simply outgrew our neighborhood location," Farsace said. He said regular customers shouldn't worry about the menu.

    What's on the menu?

"All of the Mi Scuzi favorites are there," he said, adding, "we have the most unique lunch menu in town. No burgers and fries."

He said the restaurant specialties include "handcrafted pastas, farm fresh veal and chicken, as well as traditional pasta casseroles, lasagna and manicotti."

Also, starting the Sunday after Labor Day, diners can add Mi Scuzi to their brunch options list, and patio seating is coming this week.

"We have a grand Italian buffet starting the first Sunday in September after Labor Day," he said.

    What are the hours?

The restaurant will be open Tuesdays through Thursdays, 11 a.m. to 10 p.m.; Fridays and Saturdays, 11 a.m. to 11 p.m.; and Sundays, 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. They will be closed on Mondays.
