Two people found dead during wellness check at a Milledgeville home, police say

Two people were found dead in a Milledgeville home during a wellness check, police said.

Milledgeville Police Department received a call around 9:25 a.m. on Thursday regarding the welfare check at a residence in the 200 block of Roberts St.

“Officers arrived on the scene and found one person deceased in the living room and another person deceased in the hallway,” a press release said.

Detectives are processing the scene, the release said. The case is under active investigation by the Georgia Bureau of Investigation.

The cause of death was unknown Friday morning.
