SAVANNAH, Ga. — The city is looking to compromise with a Port Wentworth family after taking them to court after their use of a private water well. LaRay Benton said the city of Port Wentworth shut off the water to his mom's home and fined her $500 daily after he disconnected the house from the city's water and started using the family's private water well, which Benton said has added up $7,500.
