    MILLER COUNTY, Mo. (KMIZ)

A St. Louis woman was charged after she was accused of hitting a victim on a motorcycle while she was driving drunk on Monday.

Nicole Mullins, 34, was charged in Miller County with DWI causing serious physical injury, leaving the scene of an accident and failure to drive on the right half of the roadway, a misdemeanor. A Missouri State Highway Patrol arrest report states she was brought to the Maries County Jail on a 24-hour hold. A warrant was issued on Tuesday and a $75,000 bond was set. The warrant states she will be monitored by GPS tracking.

According to the probable cause statement filed by the MSHP, troopers were dispatched for a crash on Highway 42, east of Martin Road in Miller County. The statement claims that Mullins drove away in her Mercedes SUV after the crash, but a witness continued to follow the vehicle into Maries County, and law enforcement officers stopped it on Highway 42 at Route V.

Mullins allegedly had slurred speech, bloodshot and watery eyes and a strong alcohol odor, the statement says. Mullins allegedly admitted to hitting something, but claimed the motorcycle hit her, the statement says. Mullins also allegedly refused field sobriety tests.

Court documents say Mullins was given a breathalyzer test at the jail and her blood alcohol content was .272, more than three times the legal limit.

The victim was allegedly brought to Lake Regional Hospital with serious injuries, the statement says. The victim allegedly had a “mangled leg, which will most likely be amputated,” court documents say. The victim allegedly told law enforcement that “The other person was passing someone on a corner and I had absolutely nowhere to go.”

Court documents say the crash occurred as the victim was heading westbound on Highway 42 on his motorcycle and Mullins was heading eastbound in the westbound lane.
