OTTUMWA, Iowa (KYOU) -We had a stormy day across Southern Iowa and Northern Missouri with temperatures a bit cooler due to the clouds and rain, in the 70s and 80s. Overnight, lows will cool into the low 70s with another chance for late night showers and storms. Storms will likely linger into Wednesday morning. Storms could become strong to severe with damaging wind as the main threat. However, isolated large hail and isolated tornadoes are also possible.
Ash Grove’s Kelley shines at National American Miss Missouri pageant
Will attend national competition in Florida this fall following good showing at state pageant held in Nebraska. A recent Ash Grove High School graduate made a strong showing recently at a Miss Missouri pageant. Shae Kelley, 18, competed in the teen division of the National American Miss (NAM) Missouri pageant, held at Omaha, Neb. on June 28 through June 30.
Four arrested in alleged break in at Marionville Powersports
Four men are in custody after they allegedly broke into Marionville Powersports on Thursday, July 25, took property from the business and fled from police eventually to be caught in Willard. Ty’Anthony Woods-Hayes, 21, Anthony Moore, 20, Deanthony Johnson, 19, and D’Marco Thomas, 24, are charged with second degree burglary, resisting arrest and first degree property damage. Woods-Hayes, Johnson and Moore are also charged with stealing of $25,000 or more, while Thomas is charged with stealing-motor vehicle/watercraft/aircraft. All of the men are from Kansas City, Kan. except for Moore, who is from Mexico, Mo.
Aurora’s Robinson inducted into MIAA Hall of Fame
Former Lady Houn’ Dawg excelled at basketball in high school, college career at Pitt State. An Aurora native was recently honored for her accomplishments as a college athlete during her years at Pittsburg State University, 1990-1993. Dani Robinson was inducted into the Mid-America Intercollegiate Athletics Association (MIAA) Hall of Fame on Monday, June 3, in Kansas City.
