Once again, PennLive’s investigative reporting is raising valid questions about murky financial dealings in Dauphin County government. Taxpayers should pay close attention. A few weeks ago, PennLive’s Juliette Rihl uncovered a serious lack of transparency in million-dollar grants the county awarded for several years to Visit Hershey & Harrisburg. The county plowed millions of dollars into the tourism agency after it contracted consulting services of Maria Haste, wife of Dauphin County Commissioner Jeff Haste (R).
