CHESTER – Assemblyman Brian Maher (R, Walden) describes 5-year-old Lilly Fernandez as a fun and spunky girl who has a love for music, singing, and dancing. Fernandez’s story resonates with Maher so much because the little girl reminds him of his daughter. Young Lilly was diagnosed with acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL) in March and Maher has organized a team to support the Fernandez family, which includes fundraising. A GoFundMe has been created to raise funds for Lilly Fernandez’s medical and travel expenses.

Lee — The town is looking a bit more colorful these days after artist Cheyenne Renee added a mural to Main Street. The Covington, Va. native founded the 50in50 Project in the fall of 2021, with her goal being to paint one mural in a small town within each state by the end of 2025.
